“Hot Fries” is a comedic short film. It was inspired by both the gangster films of the eighties and nineties, like Scarface and Goodfellas, as well as comedic screenplays of recent times like Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. There surely exists a few common student film errors with “Hot Fries” (editing, sound mix). However, despite these shortcomings, this movie still made many jump, laugh, and nod their heads to the soundtrack. Given that we only had 48 hours with our university’s camera equipment to shoot, and we were forced to use a non actor or two, I think “Hot Fries” was a success. I’m proud to have written it, and to have spearheaded the cinematography.

Many valid critiques could be made about both the song “Telephone”, and its music video. However, Sam and I worked tirelessly on this project while also tackling undergrad responsibilities in the midst of a difficult school year. I am proud to have executed something like this independent of any university resources. And, I got to do it with my friends.
